Deaf and Hard of Hearing Adolescents Conference September 18-20 in
September 20, 2006

Updated registration information is now available for the Deaf and Hard of
Hearing Adolescents: Leaving No One Behind! conference scheduled for
September 18-20 in Memphis, TN. Opening day keynote presenters include Dr.
Martha Sheridan, author of Inner lives of deaf children: Interviews and
Analysis, and Dr. I . King Jordan, Outgoing president of Gallaudet
University. A panel presentation will be moderated by Dr. Douglas Watson,
Director of the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center for Persons Who
are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. A listing of concurrent workshops, registration

Conference participants also have the opportunity to sign up for a tour of
Graceland (Will there be an Elvis sighting?) This tour will include the
mansion, automobile museum, and other sites on Graceland. After the tour, we
will have a barbecue dinner in the automobile museum. The tours are
self-guided and will take approximately two hours. The $70.00 ticket will
include the tour, dinner and round-trip transportation from the conference
hotel.

The conference is co-sponsored by the Gallaudet University Regional Centers
and the University of Arkansas Rehabilitation Research and Training Center
for Persons who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Gold Level Sponsor is the
Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center. Silver Sponsors are Gallaudet
University and Tennessee Relay Services. Bronze level sponsors are Sorenson
VRS, Tennessee School for the Deaf, and the Alabama Department of Mental
Health, Office of Deaf Services. Conference supporters include ADARA, CEASD,
American Society for Deaf Children, Hands and Voices, and the Memphis City
Schools Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program.

We are planning to offer CEUs from RID, NBCC, NASW, and Gallaudet
University. Applications are in process and approval is anticipated.
