Dealing with Latino Cultural Nuances While Interpreting

ASL Services and Latino proudly announces that there will be an upcoming workshop available to both Florida and Puerto Rico interpreters.
Sergio Pena of Mexico will be presenting on "Dealing with Latino Cultural Nuances While Interpreting."
This workshop will have a primary focus on voicing dealing with different Latino nuances.
There will be a total of four same workshops available to accommodate each interpreter's schedule.
Kissimmee, Florida:
Tuesday, January 15, 2008 from 8am to 12pm
Tuesday, January 15, 2007 from 130pm to 530pm
Guaynabo, Puerto Rico:
Thursday, January 17, 2008 from 8am to 12pm
Thursday, January 17, 2008 from 130pm to 530pm
The workshop will cost $40.00 for each participant and CEU's will be available to participants.

Sergio Pena's biography:
Quadralingual Interpreter in the Southern California and Mexico. He has a particular area of expertise is in LSM/Spanish.
• Certified in Mexican Sign Language by the State of Sonora, Morelos and Mexico City.
• Fluent in English, Spanish, Mexican Sign Language, and American Sign Language
• Professor at an Interpreting Training Program in the University UABC in Tijuana, Baja California
• Scored level 5 (highest score possible) on the bilingual oral/written Spanish test as measured by the Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD)
• Religious interpreting in Spanish, English, ASL and LSM (Mexican Sign Language)
• Lecturer in educating Deaf children with Mexican Sign Language and Spanish
