Hurricane Preparation
To help you prepare your business and your family for this year's
hurricane season, Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) has developed a
series of free workshops designed to provide important information on
disaster preparedness.
Using lessons learned from the 2004 hurricane season, the 60-minute
sessions are packed with helpful tips and information, including details
on power restoration procedures and priorities. KUA will also have
officials on hand from Osceola County and the city of Kissimmee to
answer your questions about this year's storm season.
Those who attend will receive a free copy of KUA's 2005 Osceola
Hurricane Handbook. The 36-page guide includes practical tips to prepare
for hurricanes and floods, plus helpful Osceola County telephone
numbers, a disaster supplies checklist and a hurricane tracking chart.
The meetings begin promptly at 7 p.m. at the locations listed below.
Refreshments will be served and those who attend can register to win a
battery-operated emergency lantern with built-in 5" black/white TV and
AM/FM radio, compliments of KUA.
*** MEETING DATES ***
Tuesday, June 21
Good Samaritan Village Community Center
1421 Hoeger Circle

Kudos to Jim Schooley
Jim Schooley, our resident consultant and sign language head instructor has been getting rave reviews for his classes. Here's a few:
"Jim Schooley is an excellent instructor. Having a deaf teacher really gives the students better insight into deaf culture. Thanks to Jim I have a much better understanding of ASL and the deaf community. I always come away from the class with something new and I look forward to the class each week. This is a great program; better than I hoped!"
--Valerie
"[Taking this class] has been one of the most enjoyable things I've done."
--Tiffany
"Mr. Schooley is a great teacher."
--Sharon
"My skills are improving and I'm more confident. Jim is a great instructor, is very patient, makes everyone feel comfortable, and is always open to questions."
--Toni
For more information about taking classes call our Class Coordinator, Lizette at (407) 518-7900 ext. 339.

Cell Phone Do Not Call List
In a few weeks, cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sale calls.
Call this number from your cell phone 888-382-1222. Or if you like, you can go to http://WWW.DONOTCALL.GOV/ and register.
It is the national DO NOT CALL list. It only takes a minute of your time. It blocks your number for 5 years. Please pass this on to everyone you know who doesn't want to be hassled or be using precious minutes while being solicited.
