FRID – Florida Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf
2006 FRID state conference in Daytona Beach Oct 12 - 15, 2006
American Sign Language Services had a table at this years FRID state conference in Daytona Beach, and were also the conferences Badge sponsor.
Read more for some highlights of the event.
Gabrielle, Vannessa, Katie, Justin, Jennifer and Kerry Ann ran the Exhibit table.
As with past events, the wheel was a big hit. A number of people hit bonus, but with ASL Services, everyone is a winner - numerous pens, first aid kits, and message boards were won.
There were many workshops including ones about the new NIC test, and a CDI workshop.
Vannessa bought raffle tickets to win an ipod nano, but someone snatched them. The only way for her to get them back was by putting her hair in clips.

CCDHH Bowling Social
On September 10th, 2005 we had a great time at the AMF Bowling Lanes in Kissimmee.
It was a great success and everyone really enjoyed the door prizes ranging from food to a DVD player. We had a lot of old and new faces join us in the festivities. We would like to express great thanks to our volunteers and I know we're all looking forward to our next Communication Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing social. Keep an eye on the ASL Newsletter for details on our next event or contact jasonCCDHHFLA@gmail.com.

Ruthy's Fond Farewell!
Hi! Ruthy "retired" after 5 years with our company due to her father's illness and having to take over their family sign-making business. While she will still fill-in during busy periods, etc. , she will no longer be in the office weekly. We took her to Villa de Flora for a Thank-You/Farewell Breakfast on her last day, September 29th and here are some of the pictures!

Meet-'N-Greet
HI! We had our "Meet n Greet" on Thursday, August 18th. It was our "party" to get all interpreters, staff & subcontractors new to the area and longtime residents to get to know each other!
A wheel was spun for drawing of prizes such as gas cards and cash!
A "Hot Seat" game like ESPN was played and Mark Jones and Connie Aescht won.
Everyone attending was introduced by saying their name and a description word with the first letter of their name and WOW do terps know adjectives!
Summer Kleier and Darlene Hicky got to sign nursery rhymes...with potholders in their hands!
Click below to see more pictures from the "Meet-'N-Greet" hosted by ASL Services, Inc. As you can see, a fun time was had by all - staff and subcontractors alike.
