Universal Studios

Assistance For Guests With Disability

Wheelchairs are available for rental on a first-come, first-served basis at Universal Studios Florida®, Universal's Islands of Adventure®, and at the parking facility at the entrance to Universal CityWalk®. Rentals are $12.00* per wheelchair, per day, with a refundable $50.00* deposit.

While all of the attraction queues are wheelchair-accessible, boarding requirements for each attraction may vary. In all cases, if you are capable of transferring to the ride vehicle's seating (either by yourself or with the assistance of another person in your party) you may transfer. Additionally, certain attractions are capable of allowing guests to remain in their standard wheelchair throughout.

We recommend that you visit http://www.universalorlando.com/Images/RidersGuideUpdateFlyer_tcm13-10940.pdf for our Rider's Guide to Rider Safety and Guests with Disabilities. To request a copy of the Rider's Guide or if additional accommodations are needed, please contact Guest Services at (407) 224-4233, or write to Universal Orlando, Attn: Guest Services, 1000 Universal Studios Plaza, Orlando, FL 32819.

In addition, Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECVs) are also available for rental at both parks; however, ECVs are not available at the parking facility. ECV rentals are $50.00* per vehicle, per day, with a refundable $50.00* deposit.

Due to limited supplies, we recommend making advance reservations for an ECV at least one (1) week prior to your visit by calling (407) 224-4233, option two (2). Please be advised that only a limited number of ECVs can be reserved each day. Out of fairness to all of our guests, ECVs cannot be held in reserve after 11:00 AM, and same-day reservation requests cannot be accepted.

We apologize, but none of our ride vehicles or attraction queues will accommodate ECVs. At those rides which can accommodate standard wheelchairs, guests may transfer from their ECV or electric wheelchair into a standard wheelchair that is provided at each location. Again, our Rider's Guide to Rider Safety and Guests with Disabilities provides more detailed information regarding the use of an ECV at our parks.

Sign language interpreting services are available at Universal Studios Florida® or Islands of Adventure®, at no charge. Please refer to the show schedule for interpreted performances upon arriving at the resort. For more information, you can contact The Sign Language Services Department at 888-519-4899 (toll-free TTY), 407-224-4414 (local TTY) or 407-224-5929 (Voice) or signlanguageservices@universalorlando.com

In addition to interpreting services, closed captioning and assistive listening devices, guidebooks for guests with disabilities and attraction scripts are available at Guest Services in each theme park. TTY telephones are available throughout the parks, and are indicated in our Rider's Guide for Rider Safety and Guests With Disabilities. For guests with hearing impairments, Telecommunication Devices for the Deaf (TDDs) are located at Guest Services and Health Services. Pay telephones with amplification devices are located throughout both parks and Universal CityWalk®.

For your enjoyment and convenience, Universal Orlando's shopping and dining facilities are wheelchair accessible. Also, our outdoor stage shows have areas reserved for guests with disabilities. These areas are clearly marked with the International Symbol of Accessibility.

At most Universal Orlando® attractions, the queue experience is an important part of telling the story of the overall attraction experience. As a result, we have made all of our queues accessible to guests using wheelchairs (with the exception of Pteranodon Flyers® at Islands of Adventure®).

Service Animals are welcome in all of our restaurant and merchandise locations, attraction queues and most other locations throughout Universal Orlando®. Additionally, there are specific entry/boarding requirements for each attraction to assist the owner in making an informed decision about their animal's safe admission. Please consult the listing for each ride and attraction in our Rider's Guide for Rider Safety and Guests with Disabilities for more information.

Guests must remove prosthetic legs or feet before riding Dragon Challenge™, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey™ and Pteranodon Flyers® to prevent hazards or loss due to ride forces. Guests must remove prosthetic limbs before riding Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit® to prevent hazards or loss due to ride forces.

Prosthetic limbs should be removed before riding the following attractions to prevent hazards or loss due to ride forces:

Any guest with prosthetic arms or hands will be required to ensure the limb is properly attached and be able to grasp the ride restraint. Certain hand, arm, leg, and joint elements may be required to ride safely. If you have any questions, please ask a ride attendant or visit Guest Services.

We apologize, but due to the dramatic movement of the ride vehicles and certain special effects at Universal Orlando®, oxygen tanks are not permitted except at the following locations: Shrek 4-DTM, TERMINATOR 2®:3-D, Animal Actors on Location!SM, A Day in the Park with BarneyTM, Curious George Goes to TownSM, Fievel's Playland® (except the waterslide), Fear Factor Live at Universal Studios®; and The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad®, Camp Jurassic® (except Pteranodon Flyers®) and the Toon Amphitheater at Universal's Islands of Adventure®.

*Prices include tax and are subject to change without notice.
